Book nowVertigo is a type of dizziness that causes a sensation of spinning or makes you feel like you or your surroundings are moving. One of the most common causes of vertigo is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), a condition where tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear become dislodged and move into the wrong part of the ear. This disrupts the normal balance signals sent to the brain, resulting in episodes of dizziness, especially with changes in head position.
Physiotherapy for vertigo focuses on re-aligning the dislodged calcium crystals in the inner ear through specialised head movements and exercises. The most common and effective Physiotherapy technique for BPPV is the Epley Manoeuver which helps reposition the displaced calcium crystals (canaliths), and relieve vertigo symptoms.
Our experienced Physiotherapists are trained in the Epley Manoeuver so if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please give us a call or book online.
