What Exercise Physiology (EP) services do you offer?

Our Exercise Physiologists can help with all of your exercise needs whether you are recovering from an injury, have a chronic condition or want to improve your athletic capabilities. You will receive a comprehensive assessment using measurement tools and the latest evidence-based exercise approaches to create a personalised plan tailored to your specific needs. You can access 1:1 sessions, Osteocise classes, Strength & Conditioning classes, Functional Movement & Balance classes or receive guidance while working independently.

Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in treating, managing and preventing sports-related injuries by using techniques to promote healing, restore function, and enhance performance. Physiotherapy can help with:

Do I need a referral to see a Physio or EP at Seaforth Physio?

No, you don’t need a referral from your GP or specialist but if you have one, please bring it with you on your first visit.

What conditions can Physiotherapy treat?

At Seaforth Physio we treat any musculoskeletal conditions e.g. of the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, nerves and other soft tissues. Some of the most common conditions we treat include:

• Back and neck pain
• Joint injuries – sprains, strains, arthritis
• Sports injuries – strains, sprains, tendon injuries, and overuse injuries (e.g., tennis elbow, runner’s knee, or Achilles tendon issues)
• Post-surgery rehabilitation – e.g. joint replacements, ligament repairs, and spinal surgeries
• Tendonitis
• Postural issues – conditions like sciatica or tension headaches caused by poor posture or imbalances
• Fractures
• Muscle imbalances and weakness

What qualifications do your Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists hold?

Our Physiotherapists are all AHPRA registered having completed Degrees or Masters in Physiotherapy. In addition, we have a number of specialist titled Physios who have attained advanced qualifications and expertise in specific areas of physiotherapy practice.

Our Exercise Physiologists are all ESSA registered with Degrees or Masters in Exercise Physiology

How do I book an appointment online?

Click on the ‘Book Now’ button on any page of the website, and it will step you through the process. If you have any problems, please call us on 02 9949 7651.

What should I do if I can’t see an available appointment at the time I want?

Please call us on (02) 9949 7651 and we will assist you in finding an appointment time that suits or suggest adding you to our wait list.

How long are the appointments?

This depends on the injury type and number of areas affected.

Is there parking?

Yes there is a car park opposite, at the church on Ross Street. Limited street parking is available on Sydney Road and there is also a car park at Balgowlah RSL, 150m down the road on Ethel Street.

Can I use my private health fund?

Yes, please bring your digital or physical card along and you can claim on the spot.

What other referral schemes do you accept and methods of payment?

We accept Compulsory Third Party (CTP), Work Cover, NDIS, and Medicare (IAHS) claims. We accept EFTPOS/all major credit cards/AMEX and cash.

What do I need to bring to my first Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology session?

To ensure a smooth and effective consultation, please bring the following (if available):

  • Medical documents – Any letters, notes, or referrals from your doctor.
  • Imaging & test results – X-rays, scans, or other relevant medical reports.
  • Private health fund card – For easy on-the-spot claiming (if applicable).
  • Appropriate clothing – Wear comfortable attire that allows easy access to the affected area for assessment and treatment.

Is there disability access?

Yes, our facility is fully accessible. We are located on the ground level with wheelchair access to our rooms and bathrooms and lift access to our gym upstairs.
